Football can be a good way to engage pupils in learning about emotions, in particular the way our behaviours change when we have heightened feelings of winning or losing.
In this example there are two video clips to watch. Watch the two clips which show the behaviours of winning and losing situations. Pupils should take individual notes as they watch to refer to and discuss afterwards in groups or as a class. Learners should be reminded that behaviours are body language signals that we can see them doing, they can be gestures, words or the actions of a person or character. Pupils can list and compare these on our ‘1-cog at a time’ booklet and once all the behaviours vocabulary has been unpacked it can be added to a class display or pupils could create a poster to share their learning. |
