Inside Out – Behaviours and Body Sensations Book

In the context of a whole school ‘Inside Out & Emotion Works’ topic, Class 6/7 at Bankton Primary School created a book of Emotion Words, Body Sensations and Behaviours. Shared by class teacher, Nicky Hocknull.

The class infact went on to learn about the 7-part component model using another Disney-Pixar movie, but this activity was one of a series carried out during a whole school introduction of the first 5 emotion cogs using the Inside Out characters and movie clips.

View more pages from the book here including the inside sensations and outside behaviours identified by pupils for the emotion words ‘alert’, ‘humiliated’, ‘delighted’, ‘grumpy’, ‘content’, ‘regretful’ and ‘disappointed’.

These are quite sophisticated words that were suggested by the teacher for this older group and were aimed at helping to extend their emotional vocabulary. However, a younger group or learners working at an earlier level of emotional understanding might be asked to completie a similar activity for a simpler word.
